New 105 Clay

# 105 is now formulated from talc from Texas.  This change has been made due to the closing of Vanderbilt's New York State talc mine.  You will find this new clay to be darker gray in the moist form.  It is the same in workability and a bit whiter when fired as the previous 105.  It is available with and without grog and works well with most  underglazes and glazes.

Tips  & Suggestions for working with 105 & 105G

*   when applying underglazes and glazes, make sure each coat is thoroughly dry before applying  the next coat.

*    If older underglazes are not adhering correctly, it may be necessary to add a gum solution along with the water when thinning them out.

*   When attaching handles and other additions, thoroughly score both surfaces and attach by applying "Magic Water".  (See formula below)

*  If making tiles or handbuilding, it is best to keep the slabs no larger than 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper.
